THE PAST  CONTINUOUS TENSE

Минулий тривалий час

Використовується для опису минулих дій, що тривали певний час.

Використовуємо The Past  Continuous Tense для дій:

1) дія, що відбувалася у визначений  час у минулому

At 10 pm last night Jill was telling her mother about her day at school.

2) Фонова дія в історії

It was snowing outside and everyone in the house was sleeping.

3)  дії, що відбувалися в однаковий час у минулому

While the teacher was reading, the students were sending messages to each other.

Past Simple of the verb “to be”

Was / were + V_ing

₊ At 6 o’clock, I was eating dinner.

- At 6 o’clock, I wasn`t eating dinner.

?  Were you  eating dinner at 6 o’clock
